Avalon Neighborhood Watch

The Avalon Neighborhood Watch was started on January 29, 2012 and now has 100 homes signed up out of the possible 116 in Avalon. Considering some homes are for sale or vacant, this percentage is one of the highest of all the Neighborhood Watches in Central Florida, per the sheriff’s department.
Avalon is pleased that our neighbor Lois Tanner will be leading the charge in ensuring Avalon’s proud history as a Neighborhood Watch community continues. Many thanks to Lois, and all our residents, for keeping our community safe.
If you are a new resident in Avalon, and would like to sign up, please contact Lois for more information. If you live in one of our other communities and would like to know more about setting up a Neighborhood Watch in your area, please reach out to Lois for more information.

Avalon Social Events

Avalon frequently has community socials at our pool & clubhouse. These are just a few pictures of our residents getting together for an afternoon of food, fun and education.
We always have lots of food for our friends to enjoy. This picture shows a recent Halloween party that was a pot luck dinner. Each resident brought one of their special recipe dishes and everybody had a great time with enough left overs for plenty of “take home.”
We try to sponsor educational events along with our community socials. These other pictures were at an event the Neighborhood Watch invited our local crime prevention officer to attend. He provided lots of great safety and security tips for our residents. Rick Huybers, a past Avalon HOA President, is shown with Orange County Sheriff Deputy Green. Of course there was plenty of food here also!
